The Artist

My Ceramic Journey

My journey into ceramics began unexpectedly in 2012 when a medical condition made drawing—my original artistic medium—challenging to continue. What started as an alternative creative outlet quickly became a passion as I discovered a natural affinity for the potter's wheel.

Now 2025, Twelve years later, after mentoring under Marco Newland in Winter Garden and countless hours of self-teaching, my hands still find joy in the transformative possibilities of clay.

Blending Global Traditions with Modern Techniques

As a Vietnamese-American artist, I greatly respect cultural styles of art and enjoy learning the global styles of ceramics throughout it's 30,000 years. Learnings its origins and finding ways to apply it to my work is how I like to pay homage to the craft!

I create traditional functional pieces and modified vessels combining wheel-throwing with hand-building techniques. Rather than confining myself to a single style, I embrace continuous learning and experimentation—challenging myself with different approaches that keep my creativity flowing. Through my work, I hope to share my appreciation for this ancient art form in our contemporary world.

Community, Connection & Craft

Community and connection are values close to my heart. My experiences volunteering with diverse populations in my younger years helped shape my perspective on the power of art to build bridges and create meaningful connections. As I continue to develop as an artist, I aspire to find ways for my ceramics to contribute to community building and support. While working toward my dream of opening a teaching studio, I find fulfillment in creating pieces that speak to both tradition and innovation, and in sharing the craft that has brought so much richness to my life.
